You can find me in the kitchen...
Said simply, I love to cook. My friends make fun of me for wearing second hand aprons and pearls while I cook, but say what you want because I can make your tummy smile. Below are a couple of my dishes. It has been my dream to be a personal chef or to own my own restaurant... one day one day. For now I cook after a hard day at work, yes this sounds odd too, or for a family event. A few of my favorites are dill pickles, pepper jelly, sausage saffron jumble, not your mama's cold slaw, and I can cook a pork tenderloin to perfection. Take a look below!
In the Garden:
I have a black thumb and I can't cook Italian very well. There is an ongoing myth my family members, who are exceptional cooks, tell about how we can't cook Italian. Somehow we always fudge the recipe. Whether it's forgetting that egg in the baked shells' stuffing or cooking the ziti too long, something always goes wrong. Anyways. I decided in efforts to be more environmentally sound and to harvest my own fresh greens... I would garden. My thumb is so black my boss actually got me an Aerogarden last year for Christmas. An electric green house that comes with seed pods. You turn it on. It tells you when to water it and feed. It also turns on it's own light and turns it off every 10 hours. It's pretty amazing and completely black thumb friendly. However, I wanted to prove to myself I can grow a tomato (didn't happen). I planted my garden and read continuously about my garden's to do's and don'ts. It's still a learning experience, but my dill pickles would have never been born if I hadn't gotten a million cucumbers in 2 weeks.
